The Directors...

John McKeown
john@sixsem.ie

John McKeownJohn works closely with clients on each Sixsem project, advising at every stage on how best to turn their ideas into video.

John got his first taste of the media industry while working at The Yard post-production house, which delivered a number of programmes including About the House and Podge & Rodge.

John’s main work to date has been the writing, directing and production of the historic feature film 'Six Semesters'. The project was Ireland's very first feature length student film. Despite an inexperienced cast and crew, a non-existent budget and an exhausting schedule, the final film was invited to and performed at seven film festivals worldwide. Six Semesters received media coverage on among others, RTÉ Television, Newstalk, Hot Press and in the Irish Independent and the Irish Times.

John's most recent work with Sixsem had him fly to the earthquake-devastated Haiti with the Irish charity Haven. While on site John produced videos in real time showing volunteers and staff at work at Haven sites across Haiti.
